Set it up
Open Settings and choose the Branding tab.
Next to Logo or photo, press Choose image…. Pick a PNG or an SVG file. A PNG can be up to 512 pixels on its longest side. If it is bigger, KeptNote says how big it is and asks you to resize it.
Under Your name or company, type the name to show.
Pick an accent color with the color picker next to it. KeptNote saves it as a color code, for example #1E2A5A.
KeptNote copies your image into its own folder on your Mac. The original file stays where it was. Press Remove to take the image away. Press Reset to KeptNote to clear the logo, the name and the color together. That button shows once you set any of them.
Until you choose an image, the preview circle shows the first letter of your name on your accent color.
Where it shows
Your logo or photo shows in a circle at the top of the side panel, next to your name. That is the panel that opens with Folders and recent. The header shows only when you set a name or a logo. Press it to go to Home. Its tooltip reads Go to Home. The accent color tints the circle that holds your first letter.
What Branding does not change
- Your notes, Markdown files and Apple Notes copies carry no brand.
- Email drafts carry no brand.
- The shareable recap page ends with Made with KeptNote. You cannot replace or remove that line.
- The window and its colors stay KeptNote’s.
KeptNote has no hosted share links, so there is no branded web page either.
Other ways to make KeptNote yours
- Appearance. System, Shallows (light) or Deep (dark). See Launch at login and the Dock icon.
- App icon. Ink or Paper, for the Dock.
- Your name. Add it on the Profile tab. KeptNote uses your first name in the greeting on Home, and as your name in the transcript tooltip.
- Templates. Make your own note shapes. See Templates and playbooks.
