What a series is
A series is a meeting that repeats, such as a weekly stand-up or a 1:1. KeptNote finds series by itself. You do not make one, and you cannot add a meeting to one or take one out by hand. KeptNote looks only at meetings that are finished.
How KeptNote decides
KeptNote is careful here. It starts a series only when it is fairly sure.
- From your calendar. If you recorded three or more different occurrences of the same calendar event, they form a series.
- From the title. If three or more meetings on different days share the same title, and they come at a fairly steady rhythm, they form a series. The rhythm is about once a day, a week, two weeks or a month. KeptNote ignores capital letters, accents and spaces when it compares titles.
- Titles that KeptNote made up, such as Meeting · 4:53 PM, never count.
A meeting belongs to at most one series.
Where you see a series
A series shows on Home, in the Recent list. It takes the place of its separate meetings and appears as one row at the position of the newest meeting. The row shows a small shell, the title of the newest meeting, and a line such as Weekly · 6 meetings. The first word says how often it repeats: Daily, Weekly, Every two weeks or Monthly. When the rhythm does not fit one of these, the line shows only the count.
The All meetings page and your folder pages list each meeting on its own.
Open the shell
- Press the row. It opens in place and shows a drawing of a shell. Each meeting is one chamber. The oldest is in the middle, and the newest is on the outside. The drawing shows the newest 12 meetings.
- Point at a chamber. A caption shows the date, and latest for the newest. Under it are the kind of meeting, Call or In person, and its length. The caption ends with Click to open this meeting.
- Press a chamber to open that meeting’s note. Right-click one for the usual meeting menu.
- When you point at nothing, the panel says how many meetings the series holds and since when, with Hover a chamber to look inside.
What a series does not do
- It has no page of its own.
- Ask cannot be limited to a series. See Ask your meetings.
- It does not change your notes or folders. It is a way to see them.
